How I manage domains and hosting

Managing a lot (dozens or hundreds) of domains has always been a challenge.
For the last 5-6 months I have been using a tool we have developed to help manage these critical business assets! Meet the Industrial Web Wizard. This weekend we released this new tool in the WPD Platinum members area. We are showing it to everyone to see what you think of it, so leave a comment and tell us.

If lots of you like this tool, we’ll figure out a way to make it available to more WPDers.

Looks pretty cool Marty. Are you releasing it to Gold members anytime soon? ;)
Are you going to be selling this or what?

  2. brendan says:

very cool, wpd + this + the giant bazooka = awesome

  3. Ruth says:

Looks like a comprehensive tool to manage assets. Looking forward to a broader distribution of this tool, not a platinum member yet.

  4. Vernon Hale says:

    Marty,

I love this! Got to be an extreme time saver. When can the rest of us get this?

  5. Scott Paul says:

This appears to be a great new tool that I look forward to implementing. Thanks!

  6. Michael says:

    Hey..

    Love the new tool.

This will clearly make life a lot easier for so many affiliate bloggers and Internet marketers whatever field they are in…

    Now you have my attention!

Anything that simplifies our process just has to be a good thing and ideal for keeping us on course with our marketing plans.

    Awesome!
    Yours,
    Michael

  7. Bob Marconi says:

Looks like a good management tool. Always wondered how folks handle as many domains as some seem to have.

  8. Simon says:

Cannot access this via android on my new Samsung Galaxy S – shame. Please take the time to create for all visitors. Thanks

  9. This is an awesome service. I would love to have access to it.

  10. Henk Vos says:

This people who have many blogs and websites in multiple niches hosted all over the place with domain names purchased from all sorts of registrars – ie nearly every internet marketer! Great idea, good added benefit to WPD. And I wished I'd thought of it.

  11. Mark says:

    Hey Marty

Looks great – I can certainly see the benefits of this and it nice and simple but flexible.

    Mark

  12. Entre says:

Marty, I know that in the US there is a word that is often over used, but I really can't think of a better one to describe you and what you do…Awesome.

  13. Mark says:

Looks good Marty. One of the most difficult aspects about internet marketing (apart from information overload, engaging an audience in different niches, providing a useful service and selling a solution) is the ability to manage the detail.
Maybe you could get together with Kenny Goodman and combine some of his functionality (DomainFace) and create a Monster Management Tool (just a thought)
WPD tool should definitely be offered for Beta testing to Gold members (hint)
    Cheers
    Mark

  14. Simon Richards says:

This looks great – exactly what I've been looking for.
PLEASE give access to Gold subscribers asap

  15. Norman says:

I thought this app would be really useful but on watching the video I was disappointed that it didn't do more. This might include when I'd add content, submit articles, add backlinks, which keywords to target, where keywords rank etc. so I could see in one window the details and progression of all my sites.

Maybe that will be part of a future version. If so, I would be interested in acquiring it. That would be a real Domain and Hosting Manager.

  16. Looks like an outstanding program. Would make internet marketing life a lot easier.

  17. Sandy Turley says:

Looks and sounds great to me Marty. I want one. Let me know when you make it available.

  18. Lars says:

Thanks for a great video Marty.
I like your Manager program and hope that I am able to start using that. But, hey just now I'm on low budget and are "just" free member and hope to be able to start again soon.
    Take care / Lars

  19. Max Miller says:

Excellent solution to what used to be a problem.

  20. Kazuko says:

Hey Marty. The tool looks interesting. We are getting ready to move forward into more markets and in preparation were thinking about how to manage large amounts of sites. This tool looks like it might be just the thing. We are not yet platinum members, but will likely look to move in that direction in the next 8 – 12 months. We will look forward to hearing more about this tool.

  21. Rob says:

This looks like a awsome tool, how can I get my hands on this as it seems like it will manage all my domains and more.
    thanks

  22. Gordon Silzer says:

This would help a lot of people who juggle several domains… and even more so if they are also spread across different hosts. When will it be ready for those of us not in Platinum WPD?

  23. Hi Marty,
this looks really great. The industrial strength web is definitely the way forward and when combined with the right management tools and systems it makes for a pretty powerful combo.

    Keep it coming,

    Mike

  24. JohnGG says:

Drool, dribble, like. This is what I have been waiting for Marty.

  25. Evie says:

Super awesome this looks :-) I have a few more than 400 domains and really need a tool to get me focused and keep me on track.

  26. Lawrence says:

    Hey Marty!
I just viewed your video on the tool that you created to manage your domains and hosing. It's truly a gem! I can't imagine how you've been able to manage the number of domains that you showed in the video much less the hosting accounts and segments of your business. I's truly worth its weight in gold!!

  27. gavin says:

I like the look of it

  28. Ray Cassidy says:

This is an excellent addition to the arsenal. I find the whole business of keeping track of multiple sites and domains to be a real pain. There was one occasion where I lost my main blog for over a week because I had missed the expiration date of the domain. So this looks a very useful tool. Might have to upgrade my wpd account. ;-)
    Ray

  29. Solfeges says:

I like it. I am interested in how this will look for my Bronze account!

  30. Hi Marty, as a professional domainer, I have never seen a domain managing tool quite like this one. It looks fantastic. I love the way it sorts out the various criteria as shown in the video. Very, very nice!

  31. tascer says:

Wow Marty, this is something that we built several spreadsheets to try and manage. Super cool that you built this all in one and the ease of use and management is wonderful.

  32. Malcolm says:

    Hi Marty,
I only have regular websites – no Wedsite Direct Blogs – but can appricieate the value of a tool like this.
I only have about 30 sites and even at that level I need to keep reviewing my status on each one every so offten.
As I understand it, your people may have many times that number.
i'm sure it will be a great help to them.

    Yours,
    Malcolm

  33. Laszlo says:

Nice tool Marty!… I'm curious about the price.

  34. Craig says:

Marty – this tool looks pretty awesome! Sure would like to get it!

  35. ElinorM says:

Super cool tool! I'll never be able to afford it but it sure would help. Recently been learning a whole lot about the advantages of WPD from weird sources. Thanks for the update.

  36. bob says:

i have a lot of writers. trouble is i dont have enough time to post new articles in my blogs. Is there a way for the writers to post in my page without having access to my other wp admin dashboad page?

  37. bob says:

I have a lot of writer for my blogs. trouble is i have no enough time to post it manually. Is there any way that my writers can post or add new article to my blogs or page without accessing my other page/admin area?

  38. Renee says:

    Hi Marty:

Industrial Web Wizard seems like just the organizational tool I need. Let me be the first to lobby you to widely distribute it. Perhaps you could sell it as a stand alone product. Please keep me posted.

    Thanks,
    Renee

  39. Gail L says:

Great tool Marty. Looking forward to the day when I will need it to manage my empire! But at this point I'm still a Bronze managing only 9 sites and that keeps me nutty at times! Good luck with it!

  40. Robert says:

Hello Marty. This is a great tool that you have created. I've often wondered how to manage a large amount of websites and this video shows the tool that I've been looking for. I'm not a member of WPD yet but hope this is made available soon.

  41. Marty;
That is an awesome piece of software. I actually had 5 sites go down because I lost track of renewal dates. What I like about it is all the information is in one place and is semi automated. A great addition to it would be to add a component that would automatically warn you of impending hosting and domain renewals 30-60 days in advance.

  42. Okay, this is something I would be interested in! Feature idea: Add ability to have tabs for each domain showing software installed, plugins used, update frequency (etc). In fact, the ability to "insert" a new "element" would be fantastic, especially if I can preprogram the elements or add them on the fly.

  43. Marie says:

As someone who once lost the notebook that had my logins and passwords written in it – this sounds great.
    Marie

  44. JPinOZ says:

    Hi Marty
I have just been going through all my hosting and domains thinking of a way to sort it all out and then I found your email all about managing domains. It is fantastic and oh so organised. I was going to get a big note pad and write out all the details. Now I won't have to if us gold members get a copy. Great stuff. Love yous wpd people.

  45. Eva says:

It looks like a very useful and time saving tool. I don't have nearly as many domains as you, but it is already a challenge to keep track of them.

  46. ShaneSchimpf says:

Haven't seen this Industrial Version yet but I have had a version of Web Wizard for several years now. Excellent for organizing but not as handy as I had hoped. Is it from the same developer?

    • No. IWW is from us. I'm sure I'm not the first person that thought of the branding 'WebWizard', just the first one that is industrial strength ;-)

      • ShaneSchimpf says:

Thanks for your response. After watching the video, I realized it's not at all what I have..lol Very nice indeed Marty! Keep us posted on what you end up doing with this. BTW, I have to say, Platinmum shmatinum.. If its that good, make it available to all of your WPD account holders. Come on Marty, give us a price.. We might buy it.
